CLC at Dusk

Christ Lutheran Church has served the Pittsburgh neighborhood of Millvale and surrounding communities since its founding in 1900. We gather each week to worship God through word, sacrament and singing. Our Credo is “Come, Invite, Welcome and Serve”. The first 3 words of this Credo help us to fulfill the 4th, and in Serving, we fill our hearts with Christ and His Great Commission to spread His teachings to humanity.

Gather with us on Sunday morning for an uplifting, heartfelt service that will fuel your spirit.

Through traditional, liturgical worship, you and your family will rejoice in Christ’s presence in and around us. Children are welcome to gather at the alter for a (sometimes) interactive sermon that can better help them understand God’s good word. And adults will benefit and learn from thought-provoking teachings, traditional hymns and modern music.

For parents with small children we provide our “Prayground” located in the side aisle of the sanctuary.

Today's focus is friendship.

Jesus says, “I no longer call you servants. Instead, I have called you friends. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit. This is my command: love each other….”

The nuanced meaning in Jesus’ words is that we begin relationship by serving, but then we move to friends. It is not giver and receiver—it is we are in this thing called life together and, we who are in Christ, move from being those who serve to those who befriend the neighbor.
